I HAVE STAYED AT THE HOTEL MANY TIMES. ALL STAFF ARE EXCELLENT AND VERY HELPFUL. THE LOCATION IS PERFECT FOR ME. HOTEL IS IN A QUIET RESIDENTIAL AREA. TRAMS TO VARIOUS LOCATIONS ARE 1 BLOCK AWAY. LOCAL CAFE IS ONE BLOCK AWAY. ON CORNER ANOTHER EATERY. GOOD HOTEL.....

Heel prettig hotel centraal gelegen, vriendelijke bediening, goede service.Ik voelde me erg op mijn gemak; schone kamer, lekker bed en kussen.Ontbijt eenvoudig, maar goed. Alleen jammer dat er in de bar geen alkoholvrij bier te verkrijgen was. Betaalbare prijs voor overnachtingen in Amsterdam,zeer aan te bevelen!
Ook wil ik nog zeggen hoe schoon de kamer was. En de persoonlijke manier waarop ik benaderd werd, met echte belangstelling.

Thanks for a very pleastant stay [13-15 July 2010]. Hotel well situated, rooms very clean and comfortable. Good choice at breakfast.We appreciated your retaining our luggage until early evening - a great facility. Will certainly recommend the hotel to our friends.

The service in this comparatively small hotel was really, really good. At breakfast I never had to wait long to be served. The staff is very helpful and try to answer questions in all languages known to them. Considering the usual size of rooms in Amsterdam, the rooms of this hotel can be called rather big. The hotel is located between the city centre and the museum district, which makes it really convenient. On future trips to Amsterdam I will always book in the Nicolaas Witsen Hotel again.

Skønt at det lå i fredelige områder, tæt på fx. musseer, og kort kørsel med sporvogn eller bus til centrum. Trods Amsterdams lidt brogede rygte følte vi to "halvgamle tanter" og fuldstændig trygge også efter mørkets frembrud og oplevede heller ikke noget ubehageligt. Der kunne godt være et par knager til evt. at kunne hænge sin kimono eller lign. på. Men ellers var værelset helt perfekt med rigtig gode senge.

This hotel has everything you need, and is within an easy walk of nice shopping and restaurant areas, as well as being near picturesque canals and the Van Gogh and other Riksmuseum - while being in a lovely quiet street in old Amsterdam. The staff were always very friendly and extremely helpful, the room quiet and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any travelers or business people - forgot to mention very close to a tram stop that takes you straight to central area and main railway station. The breakfast, though described as continental included a boiled egg and lots of bread, ham and cheese and great coffee - brilliant! On vient de passer deux jours dans cet hotel, avec deux enfants (16 mois et 4 ans). C'est un hotel vraiment bien, le personnel est tre's sympathique et disponible. Il est tre's bien situe, propre, le petit dejeuner y est copieux. Le seul - c'est au niveau de l'insonorisation des chambres. Nous recommandons vivement cet hotel, et nous y retournerons.

The hotel is exactly how it looks the service is great room temperature etc. Breakfast is decent. Room cleaned. The night porter is very caring and was concerned about us and what time we got in - It's a safe hotel - bit quiet - shower and toilet were fine - everything is walking distance and tram stops are everywhere easy to get around - don't even have to pay on there. The lighting is efficient in the hotel. Clean towels are provided. i would recommend this place to any one familys/groups of friends. It is a little pricey but if you want a proper shower and room then this is the place.

Très bonne accueil, personnel chaleureux et sympathiques. Chambre très confortable et très propre. Petit déjeuner excellent (5 sortes de pains différents, charcuterie, fromage, jambon, oeuf, beurre, confitures, thé café). Hôtel situé à côté de deux arrêts de Tram et d'un parking. 10 minutes du centre à pied

Dit fijne hotel zal ik iedereen aanbevelen. Vriendelijk personeel waar je al gauw een persoon bent en geen nummer. Goede bedden, rust, lekker ontbijt. Beetje kleine badkamer. Het hotel ligt centraal van alles. Volgende keer ga ik weer daar naar toe. groetjes van kamer 21

We stayed there for 6 days and it was a great and good experience. The hotel is very quiet but still very close to all main attractions and entertainment areas in Amsterdam. The tram stop is very close to hotel and is very easy to use. For those who have young children, you can go on the tram with the push chair, without the need of closing and lifting it! The hotel is clean, cosy and the breakfast is good. A great thankyou to the friendly staff, especially to the night receptionist (sorry but we forgot the name!). The staff was helpful, gave us discount vouchers to attractions and also arranged taxis for us to the airport. Thanks again from all of us. Anna Maria, Keith and Katrina from Malta

L'hotel Ã¨ molto carino e si trova in zona residenziale difronte alla fabbrica della heineken,percorrendo una strada bella e piacevole lungo i canali(incantevoli di notte) si raggiunge a piedi rembrantpleinin 5 min.-Ã¨ a 10min. dai musei-20 min. da leidseplain-30 min. da damsquare.per il prezzo pagato sia servizio che stanze sono soddisfacenti.in particolare le stanze sono abbastanza grandi e pulite con tv al plasma e armadio a muro(ottimo per posare 2 valige).consiglio le stanze fumatori, con vasca da bagno ed ai piani superiori (la nostra era la 10 al primo piano)poichÃ¨ non sono umide e non si Ã¨ al livello della strada. la colazione non Ã¨ a buffet, vengono serviti al tavolo pane-prociutto-formaggio-uovo sodo-marmellate-caffÃ¨-latte-tÃ¨-succo arancia. vicino c'Ã¨ un bel coffeeshop e di sera sia rembrantplain che leidseplain sono da vivere. ci ritornerei sicuramente

El hotel esta cerca del centro pero al mismo tiempo en una zona tranquila. Hay una parada de tranvia cerca. El personal muy amable. Todo estaba muy limpio. El bano era nuevo y la ducha funcionava muy bien. Las camas muy comodas.

Het hotel is heel goed met openbaar vervoer te bereiken en ligt centraal ten opzichte van winkels en bezienswaardigheden. Wij zijn heel gastvrij ontvangen en wij waren heel tevreden over de kamer. Het hotel ligt in een rustige straat. Je kon wel het geluid van trams horen maar dat was te verwaarlozen. 's Nachts was het heel rustig. De kamer was heel netjes, ook de badkamer. Wij hebben van een uitgebreid, heel goed ontbijt genoten. Het hotel is ook goed met de auto te bereiken maar parkeren in Amsterdam en ook bij het hotel is heel duur!!! Tips: O.a. het Rijksmuseum, Albert Cuypmarkt, Vondelpark liggen op hele korte loopafstand van het hotel. Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten bij de Bazaar op de Albert Cuyp. Dit is een Marokkaans eethuis en gevestigd in een voormalige kerk. Hun motto is: "Alle geloven bij elkaar brengen om samen te eten".

We have just returned from a short break in Amsterdam where we stayed at the Nicolaas Witsen Hotel. The hotel was very clean and in a great location, not too far out and easy to find. All the hotel staff were very friendly even when you returned late at night and had to ring the bell for someone to let you in. A bit more variety at breakfast would have been nicer but we were only there for three mornings so it was not too much of a problem. However if we had been staying any longer this would have been a bit tiresome. The rooms were very comfortable and a good size but the bed was a bit too soft. If in the future we ever returned to Amsterdam we would definately stay at the Nicolaas Witsen Hotel.

Wir kamen als Familie mit kleinem Kind und es wurde sehr gut darauf RÃ¼cksicht genommen, was so ein kleines Kind alles benÃ¶tigt. Ausserdem liegt es wunderbar zentral, so dass alles sogar mit Buggy fusslÃ¤ufig ist (incl. Hauptbahnhof, wenn man das mit einem Stadtbummel verbindet) oder zumindest sehr gut an den Nahverkehr angebunden ist.

Vriendelijke ontvangst , en een parkeerservice, onze auto werd opgehaald en op de afgesproken tijd weer bij het hotel gebracht.Schone kamers, goede bedden, rustige buurt en toch centraal. Prima adres !

we had been relocated from our original hotel, due to overbooking and despite our disappointment we soon found that the hotel Nicolaas Witsen was a much suitable substitute. we like to think that we made out better. the service was outstanding, the staff were responsive and respectable and the location worked to our advantage once we learned the tram system. our next visit to amsterdam will include the hotel nicolaas witsen.

Prima hotel voor uitstapje naar Carre bijvoorbeeld. Prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is goed. Heerlijke bedden en ontbijt is niet heel luxe maar voldoende. Er is nog steeds renovatie gaande dus kan alleen nog maar beter worden.

La proximitÃ© du centre et des musÃ©es. Les chambres neuves et trÃ©s propres , la salle de bain de trÃ©s belle qualitÃ©. La tranquilitÃ© de l'hotel sur une rue non pasante. Nous avons essayÃ© le parking p+r Ã 6 euros par jour, facile Ã trouver avec un gps, et reliÃ© au tram, en face de la sortie: opÃ©ration trÃ©s convaincante vu les prix du stationnement dans la ville de 35 euros par jour!

This hotel is the friendliest hotel I ever stayed! The staff made me feel very welcome and they helped me very good finding my way in Amsterdam. They helped me to plan my full 5 days in Amsterdam and I think I have seen every interesting place. The room was just renovated and I had a big flat screen on the wall. The beds were perfect and so was the breakfast. When I came out of my room the first morning for breakfast I met the cleaning guy and he was so friendly as well. He gave me a hand and told me his name. He asked me if everything was ok, if I had enough towels and if there was something he could do for me. Also the staff in the breakfast room was really good and friendly. I can really recommend this hotel.

Wij waren eind augustus in dit leuke city-hotel. Wij hadden een vernieuwde kamer en deze zijn zeer comfortabel: klein, maar pikfijn ingericht en zeer mooie badkamer. Zalige bedden! De benedenverdieping is wel nog wat ouwbollig, maar heeft wel iets gezelligs. Het ontbijt wordt aan tafel opgediend en is zeer verzorgd en zeker uitgebreid genoeg. Rustige ligging op wandelafstand van hartje centrum. Een betaalbare aanrader als je 't ons vraagt!

Being our first time in amsterdam, i think we picked the perfect hotel, in a great location just close enough to the centre, all the action of the centre was located 10-15 mins walk along one long road (and the heineken experience literaly around the corner) cutting out the need for public transport. the hotel was very well kept, the rooms were in imaculate condition and of a nice size. the staff were very freindly and helpfull, and breakfast was served quickly, to a high standard. A small selection of food and drinks were available at the bar, which were served around the clock which was a handy feature, if returning later on. I have no doubt that I will be staying with this hotel again and I recomend anyone in doing so.
